In-Home Lessons
Piano, voice, ukulele, and trombone — taught in your home, for students ages 4 and up.
In-home lessons are ideal for busy families and younger students. The home becomes the learning space: after the lesson ends, the room where it happened holds a certain resonance, and that memory carries into practice. Students are more relaxed in their own space, with all their materials at hand. Parents of younger children can observe — or even join in — which makes a real difference with the youngest students.
Evaluations, Competitions & Performance
Students have the opportunity to participate in a range of formal evaluations throughout the year:
-
Certificate of Merit (MTAC) — California's standard evaluation program, assessing repertoire, technique, sight-reading, and theory
-
ABRSM — the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music
-
RCM — the Royal Conservatory of Music
-
MTB — Music Teachers' Board
Students may also take part in festivals, competitions, annual recitals, and community performances throughout the year. Through my affiliations with MTAC (San Diego District Board), Music Teachers National Association, and the College Music Society, students can participate at the local, regional, and national level.
Partner Instructors
I also connect families with trusted instructors in guitar and digital composition & audio engineering.
